Filmmaker Stephen Peet made a number of films for British television portraying the life and culture in Southern Africa whilst the USSR produced propaganda films for the 1950’s.  The tragic results of drought and lack of water in the Sahel region of Africa and northern Senegal are recorded.  There is street theatre in San Francisco and film clips from Joseph Strick’s classic Savage Eye which includes footage of unsavoury and cult life in 1960’s Los Angeles.  Our gay and lesbian material includes interviews with elderly folk as well as footage on the life and times of Gertrud Stein.
